According to the newspaper , the 2021 production, which will run through Jan. 2, is slated to feature the longest repertoire ever performed by the iconic, high-kicking dancers, including the return of lyrical fan-favorite, “Snow.”
Specifically, the Rockettes will perform nine numbers throughout the 90-minute holiday-infused production, featuring “more technically complex and different styles of dance than ever before,” showrunners stated in a news release.
The production has been seen by more than 69 million people since its 1933 debut, WABC reported.
Meanwhile, the celebrated dance troupe is also reprising its popular Instagram Live dance class at 5 p.m. EDT Tuesday, allowing fans to learn a portion of the “Snow” choreography, the TV station reported .
The online tutorial will also give viewers a look at the Gregg Barnes costume for the number, which “highlights the individuality of the Rockettes by pairing six different colors with six different designs, ensuring each Rockettes’ costume is completely unique and different – just like snowflakes, and the Rockettes themselves,” the production stated.
The 2020 spectacular was canceled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, marking the production’s first pause in its 87-year history. In turn, virus-related protocols will be strictly enforced by the venue, WABC reported .
Tickets for the 2021 show are on sale now .
“The Christmas Spectacular IS the holiday season in New York for so many families - and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them back to Radio City Music Hall this November,” James Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of MSG Entertainment, stated.
“After a year none of us will ever forget, we all need a little joy, and there’s nothing like the Rockettes and the Christmas Spectacular to get us into the holiday spirit and make the season unforgettable,” Dolan added.
