The J. M. Smucker Co. issued a voluntary recall for the peanut butter, which is distributed nationwide in retail stores and other outlets, the company said in a news release.

On its website, the FDA listed the affected peanut butter products by code numbers, which are between 1274425 and 2140425.

J.M. Smucker said it was unable to estimate the financial impact of the recall, but will provide additional information when it becomes available.

The latest illness was reported on May 1, 2022. No deaths have been associated with the outbreak, the FDA said.

The Jif products under recall were produced at the J.M. Smucker facility in Lexington, Kentucky, according to the agency. The products have a two-year shelf life, so consumers should check any Jif peanut butter in their homes, the FDA said.

The illnesses have been reported in Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
