The United State Capitol Police say Jerome Felipe, 53, was arrested outside the U.S. Capitol after 5 a.m.

CNN says Felipe showed patrol officers a fake badge that said, “Department of the INTERPOL” on it and allegedly told them that he was a criminal investigator with INTERPOL. They say Felipe is retired New York police officer.

Felipe let patrol officers search his car, a 2017 Dodge Charger, says NBC News. He had a BB gun, body armor, high-capacity magazines and other ammunition inside his car. NBC News said that “no real firearms were found.”

Felipe has been arrested and is facing charges of unlawful possession of high-capacity magazines and unregistered ammunition, says NBC News.

The USCP is continuing to investigate the incident and look into why Felipe parked outside of the U.S. Capitol.
