’Sesame Street,’ CNN to hold town hall to address racism

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

Big Bird, Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Rosita will be having a frank, age-appropriate discussion on racism and what is happening in our country.

“Sesame Street” is joining forces with CNN to present a second town hall to talk to kids about the protests that are filling our streets and televisions, how to embrace diversity and to be more empathetic.

Big Bird will appear with CNN commentator Van Jones, and anchor Erica Hill will moderate.

They will be answering questions alongside experts. The questions are being sent in from families, Entertainment Weekly reported.

“Sesame Street” tackled another tough subject in April when it broadcast a program about the coronavirus pandemic and trying to explain COVID-19 to children. You can watch the show here.

“Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism” will air on CNN, CNN International, and CNN en Español, as well as on CNN.com and CNN apps on June 6 at 10 a.m.
