SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — A man admitted to authorities that he killed his girlfriend after they had an argument at a South Carolina cabin over the weekend, according to the arrest warrant.
Sevier County deputies were called about a shooting at a cabin in Tennessee around 1 p.m. Saturday. Once they arrived, they found the body of Shelby Lynn Booth inside with gunshot injuries, according to WATE. Booth and her boyfriend, Julian Popoca, 21, were on a trip.
Deputies detained Popoca when they arrived at the cabin as they investigated. In a warrant that was provided to WATE, deputies say that Popoca admitted to shooting his girlfriend multiple times after they had an argument.
WSPA says Popoca has been charged with second-degree murder. No further information has been released.
