Father and son found shot in Auglaize County, deputies continue investigation

AUGLAIZE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 8:45 a.m. (April 12):

Deputies continue to investigate in Auglaize County following a double-shooting Wednesday morning that left a father and son with injured.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Dexter Lee Turner, 47, and his son Alim Amir Turner, 25, according to a media release Thursday. The shooting occurred at a condominium on the south side of Grand Lake St. Marys where at least one of the victims was a resident.

Both men remain hospitalized, but investigators did not release their conditions.

“The sheriff’s office is working hard to come up with suspects and answers on this case,” Auglaize County Sheriff Allen Solomon said in the release. “We do not have a motive and information is still developing.”

No arrests have been made, according to investigators.

FIRST REPORT (April 11):

Two people were shot early Wednesday near Grand Lake St. Marys.

Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said around 3:22 a.m. a report of a male stating he was shot came into 911. The incident happened somewhere off of Ohio 364.

Two victims were found with gunshot wounds, Solomon said. They remain hospitalized and their names have not been released.

“This appears to be an isolated incident and not a threat to other citizens although people should be observant and report anything out of the ordinary,” Solomon said in a release.
