USPS’ Operation Santa gives you the chance to be one of Santa’s elves

KETTERING — United States Postal Service’s Operation Santa can make Christmas a little brighter for a child or family who may be struggling to make ends meet this holiday.

Children can write letters to Santa is hopes that their letter gets adopted. Hundreds of those letters are handled by Kettering’s post office each year.

Letters are to be addressed to:

Santa Claus

123 Elf Road

North Pole, 88888

If you would like to help Santa out you can adopt a letter beginning on Nov. 29 after creating and verifying your account on USPS’ website. After picking out a gift you can ship it from a participating Post Office.

NewsCenter 7′s Gabrielle Enright spoke with longtime Kettering post office employee Karen Reichard about the opportunity to become one of Santa’s elves.

“I think the magic is when you’re the giver in the life of a child,” Reichard said.

Make sure your return address is included on your envelope to Santa if you would like to get a chance of receiving some Christmas magic this year.

“Everyone needs a little magic. Especially around the holidays,” said postal worker Ka’la Tomlinson.
