Western wildfires create smokey sunrise in Ohio

Wildfires across the western United States have produced enough smoke to drift east into the Great Lakes region, including Ohio. You may have noticed a milky haze to the sky Tuesday and a vibrant sunrise; this was because of that smoke.

The smoke can be carried by the upper level winds across the country. The particles of smoke can cause the sunrise/sunset to be more orange than normal.
