Full 2021 NFL schedule for Bengals, Browns released

The NFL released the full schedule for all 32 teams which will see both of Ohio’s teams playing in primetime four times.

The Bengals will open the season at home Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. against the Minnesota Vikings, a matchup that will bring former Bengals defensive coordinator, and current Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer back to the Queen City.

The Browns get a tough draw to start their season, a road game at the two-time defending AFC Champions Kansas City Chiefs. The game is scheduled to air on WHIO-TV at 4:25 p.m. also on Sept. 12.

The Chiefs ended the Browns season last year in the Divisional round of the playoffs.

Cincinnati plays their only primetime game in Week 4 against Jacksonville, with former Ohio State head coach, now current Jaguars coach Urban Meyer, returns to his home state. The matchup also will be a rematch of the two quarterbacks in the 2020 National Championship game, Joe Burrow of LSU, and Trevor Lawrence of Clemson, this year’s number one pick in the NFL Draft.

In the final 10 weeks of the season, Cincinnati will play away from home only three times only leaving the state twice.

The Browns play in primetime against the Broncos in Cleveland Oct. 7 for Thursday Night Football, Week 12 at Baltimore for Sunday Night Football Nov. 28, and Monday Night Football at Pittsburgh in Week 17 Jan. 3.

Ohio’s two NFL teams play Nov. 7 in Cincinnati and to end the year in Week 18 Jan. 9.
