CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is officially inactive in today’s game against the Tennessee, the team announced before kickoff.
>>Bengals RB Joe Mixon reportedly ‘ruled out’ of Sunday’s game against Titans
There were previous hopes of his return, our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati said Thursday.
The announcement originally came from NFL insider Jordan Schultz on Saturday.
“I’m told the #Bengals’ All-Pro WR had a good week of practice, but isn’t quite ready to return from a hairline hip fracture and torn labrum,” Schultz tweeted Saturday.
Chase was listed as questionable with a hip injury in the team’s injury report Friday.
He did practice and run all week, according to Taylor.
>>Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase expected to play Sunday at Tennessee
Bengals players and staff were hopeful Chase would return. Quarterback Joe Burrow said in Wednesday’s news conference the Bengals expected Chase to play after looking good at practices, according to WCPO.
Chase’s last game was Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Bengals play the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon in Nashville, Tennessee in a rematch of January’s AFC Divisional Playoff game where Cincinnati won, 19-16.
Kickoff is at 1 p.m. You can watch the game on Channel 7.
