BALTIMORE, MD — A comeback effort in the fourth quarter by the Cleveland Browns came up short as they lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 23-20, Sunday afternoon at M&T Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.
Cade York’s 60-yard field goal attempt with 2:09 left was blocked by Malik Harrison as the Browns drop to 2-5 overall and have now lost four straight games.

Cleveland took the opening kickoff, drove 75 yards downfield and Nick Chubb capped it with a two-yard touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead. The Ravens got a 32-yard field by Justin Tucker and Cade York’s 41-yard field goal put the Browns ahead, 10-3, after one quarter.
The teams exchanged punts to start the second quarter and Tucker’s 34-yard field goal got Baltimore within four, 10-6. Cleveland went three-and-out on their next series and the Ravens drove 80 yards in 10 plays that Gus Edwards capped with a seven-yard touchdown run to put them ahead, 13-10, at halftime.
Calais Campbell sacked and forced a Jacoby Brissett fumble that was recovered by Odafe Oweh at the Browns 30-yard line. Baltimore got a one-yard touchdown run by Edwards on fourth and goal to increase it to 20-10. Cleveland got a 37-yard field goal by York and trailed, 20-13, after three.
Justin Tucker banged a 55-yard field goal through the uprights for his third field goal of the afternoon to give Baltimore a 23-13 advantage. The Browns came back with a 75-yard, seven play drive that Kareem Hunt ended with a two-yard touchdown run with 9:00 left to cut it to 23-20.

Baltimore looked like it was going to put the game away but Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah forced a Justice Hill fumble that Isaiah Thomas recovered with 3:20 remaining. The Browns thought they had the lead when Brissett hit Amari Cooper for a 34-yard touchdown pass but Cooper was called for offensive pass interference for pushing off on defensive back Marcus Peters to set up third and 12.
Brissett ran seven yards to the Raven 37-yard line and set up a 54-yard field by York. But the Browns were called for a false start and moved the ball five-yards. York’s 60-yard attempt was blocked.
Cleveland had one more chance in the final seconds but Donovan Peoples-Jones fumbled and Geno Stone recovered for the Ravens.
Jacoby Brissett went 22-27 for 258 yards and was sacked five times. Nick Cubb ran for 91 yards and a touchdown. David Njoku caught seven passes for 71 yards before leaving the game with an injury.
Baltimore is now 4-3 and remains tied with Cincinnati for first place in the AFC North.
The Browns will host the Cincinnati Bengals Halloween Night on Monday Night Football, October 31, at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland at 8:15 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on 1290 and 95-7, WHIO.
