Dayton Dragons announce coaching staff for upcoming 2023 season

DAYTON — The Dayton Dragons have announced their coaching for the upcoming 2023 season as assigned by the Cincinnati Reds, according to a team’s spokesperson Tuesday.

Bryan LaHair returns as Dragons manager. His first season was last year when the team went 39-27 in the first half of the season to finish second in the Midwest League’s East Division, one game out of first place.

LaHair was also instrumental in the development of infielder of Elly De La Cruz, the Reds Minor League Player, the team said. He was also one of three finalists for the Baseball America’s Minor League Player of the Year Award.

Todd Naskedov will be the team’s pitching coach this season, it’s his second year in the Reds organization.

Eric Richardson is the team’s hitting coach while Osmin Melendez joins the Dragons as a coach.

It will also be Richardson’s second season with the Reds and this year will be Melendez’s first.

The Dragons open their 23rd season in the Midwest League on April 6 at Lake County.

Their first home game will be on April 11 against Great Lakes at Day Air Park.
