Dayton Flyers continue winning streak, 80-70 final score

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 4:00 p.m. 

The No. 5 Dayton Flyers defeated Duquesne at UD Arena with a final score of 80 to 70.

Today’s game was the sixteenth straight win for Dayton and they are now (25-2, 14-0).

The Dayton Flyers remain undefeated in Atlantic 10 play.

Obi Toppin joins the 1,000 point club with his dunk in the second half making the score 59-47 Dayton.

Toppin is the 50th Flyer in the program to join the 1,000 point club at Dayton.

The current score is 72 to 63 with Dayton in the lead.

UPDATE @ 2:55 p.m.

No. 5 Dayton is locked in a tight game with Duquesne at halftime at UD Arena.

Dayton is trailing at halftime for just the second time all season -- the last their game at Saint Louis on Jan. 17 where the Flyers won.

The Duquesne Dukes lead Dayton 38-36.

Dayton scored first with an Obi Toppin three.

After that, Dayton found itself down 7-3.

Since then, the first half has been full of ties and lead changes.
The first half featured six ties and 12 lead changes.

For Dayton, Obi Toppin leads all scorers with 16. He’s the only Flyer in double figures.

Marcus Weathers, 12 points, and Sincere Carry, 11 points, are the only Duquesne players at double figures and are leading the Dukes attack.

The No. 5 Dayton Flyers returned home to the University of Dayton Arena Saturday to take on the Duquesne Dukes.

The Flyers (24-2, 13-0) are looking to extend their winning streak to 16 games and continue their perfect start to Atlantic 10 Conference play.
