DAYTON — Dayton Flyer redshirt senior running back Jake Chisholm is one of 35 NCAA FCS players to be named to the Stats Perform Walter Payton Award Watch List, which goes annually to the FCS Offensive Player of the Year, according to a media release.

Chisholm is one of 10 Walter Payton finalists from 2021 returning this season.
The two-time UD co-captain was a Second Team Stats Perform FCS All-American last year as an all-purpose runner after finishing second in FCS football in all-purpose yardage (163.9 yards per game).
Chisholm also led FCS in rushing attempts per game (23.5) and touchdowns per game (1.8)
He led the Flyer in rushing last season with 1,073 yards while catching 30 passes for 361 yards.
Chisholm finished the year with 502 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns over his last three games.

He is the fifth Dayton player ever to be named to the Award’s preseason watch list.
Other UD players include quarterback Steve Valentino in 2010, running back Connor Kacsor in 2015, tight end Adam Trautman in 2019 and quarterback Jack Cook in 2021.
Dayton went 6-4 last season, including 5-3 in the Pioneer Football League, and open the 2022 season at Robert Morris on September 3.
