Dayton’s Elijah Weaver is entering the transfer portal

DAYTON — University of Dayton guard Elijah Weaver will enter the transfer portal.

He joins Moulaye Sissoko as second UD Flyer in doing that since the season ended, Sissoko entered the transfer portal on March 23rd.

Weaver played in 22 games this past season for the Dayton Flyers, started in five, averaging over six points a game before a wrist injury ended his season in February.

He scored in double figures in six of the Flyers’ first nine games including a season-high 16 points against Northern Illinois on December 4th. Weaver also scored 14 points three times, including wins in November against both Miami and Kansas in the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando. Both the Jayhawks and Hurricanes played each other in the Elite Eight in Chicago on Sunday, Kansas won advancing to the Final Four in New Orleans.

Weaver transferred to Dayton from USC.

The Dayton Flyers went 24-11 this past season, finished tied for second place in the Atlantic 10 at 14-4 and lost in the second round of the NIT to Vanderbilt.
