Noel’s double-double not enough for Wright State, loss 3rd straight road game

ROCHESTER, MI — Brandon Noel’s double-double for the Wright State Raiders was not enough Thursday night as they lost to the Oakland Grizzlies, 75-68, for their third road loss in a row.

Noel led the Raiders with 24 points and 10 rebounds while Alex Huibregtse added 15.

Jalen Moore scored 35 points to lead Oakland while Keaton Harvey added 17.

The Grizzlies shot 21-26 from the free throw line while the Raiders made 7-10 foul shots.

WSU falls to 16-14 overall, 9-10 in the Horizon League.

Wright State led, 32-30, at halftime and had their largest lead at 55-47 with 8:53 remaining.

Oakland outscored the Raiders, 12-4, to even the score at 59-59 with 4:47 to play.

Noel’s layup tied it at 64-64 with 2:43 to go but Moore’s three-pointer put the Grizzlies ahead for good, 67-64.

WSU concludes the regular season playing at Detroit-Mercy Saturday night at 7 p.m.
