Buckeye fans were looking to see a showdown between quarterbacks Kyle McCord and Devin Brown but Brown did not play after suffering a finger injury to his throwing hand earlier in the week.

McCord alternated quarterback series with Oregon State transfer Tristan Gebbia. McCord completed 18 of 34 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown while Gebbia finished with 127 yards passing and a score.

All-American wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr played in a couple of first quarter series before sitting and caught three passes for 62 yards.

Chip Trayanum ran for 110 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown run.

The Buckeyes begin the 2023 season September 2 at Indiana in Bloomington, Indiana.
