NEW YORK — Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud is among the four finalists for the 88th annual Heisman Memorial Trophy, announced Monday night live on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown.

The three other finalists are also quarterbacks, two others are from College Football Playoff Teams.
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, TCU quarterback Max Duggan and USC quarterback Caleb Williams are the other three finalists.
Georgia and TCU are also in the College Football Playoff with Ohio State. Those games will be played on New Year’s Eve.
TCU will play Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona at 4 p.m. Ohio State and Georgia play in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta at 8 p.m. The winner of each game advances to the championship game on January 9 in Los Angeles.
Stroud completed 235 of 355 passes for 3,340 yards with 37 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also leads the nation at 8.75 yards per play and a quarterback rating of 176.25.
Stroud was also named the Big Ten Offensive Player and Quarterback of the Year. His 37 touchdowns are tied nationally with Williams.
The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner will be announced Saturday night at 8 p.m. in New York City and televised on ESPN.
