Ohio State ranked No. 2 in first College Football Playoff rankings

COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Buckeyes are ranked number 2 in the first College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.

Tennessee is number one, defending champion Georgia ranks three and Clemson is number four.

Michigan and Alabama round out the Top 6 with the Wolverines fifth and the Crimson Tide sixth.

The Buckeyes are coming off a 44-31 victory at Penn State Saturday afternoon, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State will play at Northwestern Saturday afternoon in Evanston, Illinois.

Kickoff is at 12 noon.
