Kirk posted a message on behalf of his son on Twitter. He says Zak “has long journey ahead of him.”
It said Zak suffered “a bit of setback these past couple of weeks” and test results on Friday forced him to be hospitalized.
“I have some of the best cardiologists looking after me, and I am beyond appreciative,” Kirk tweeted on behalf of his son. “We are doing a number of tests and conjuring a plan to ensure that I will be able to be back to feeling normal again. I appreciate the overwhelming support over the past couple of days.”
The message concluded by saying Zak is feeling good and hopes to be out of the hospital soon.
Kirk also said Zak was awake and on his phone from time to time.
The university says Zak is listed in stable condition at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
