This is so family and staff can travel to Canton to watch Springfield High School play in the Division I State Championship football game, according to a Springfield City School District (SCSD) spokesperson.

“We encourage our families to travel to the game or follow along on social media and available streaming services through the Ohio High School Athletic Association,” said Dr. Bob Hill, SCDS Superintendent.

Buildings will release three hours ahead of their normally scheduled dismissal times, the school district said.

The Springfield Wildcats will play St. Edward Friday night in a rematch of last year’s State Championship Game where St. Edward won, 23-13.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. from Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.

Tickets are available at ohsaa.org/tickets.
