Trey Calvin leads 5 players in double figures as Wright State wins on Senior Night

DAYTON — The Wright State Raiders got a balanced scoring attack Friday night in an 83-65 win over the Northern Kentucky Norse at the Nutter Center.

Trey Calvin led five Raiders in double figures with 23 points as WSU shot 58% from the field.

Brandon Noel added 18 points along with eight rebounds while Andrew Welage and Tim Finke each scored 12. Alex Huibregtse also had 11 points.

Wright State improves to 16-11 overall, 9-7 in the Horizon League.

Wright State led at halftime, 34-31, and jumped out a 40-33 advantage to open the second half. The Norse scored seven unanswered points to tie it at 40-40.

The Raiders had a 51-50 lead with 11:48 to play but went on an 11-0 run to take a 62-50 following a dunk by Noel with 8:19 left.

Calvin’s three-pointer gave WSU their biggest lead of the half, 70-51, with 6:34 to go and never looked back.

The Raiders have four games left in the season, all on the road.

Their next game will be February 17 when they play at Cleveland State. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
