DAYTON — The University of Dayton women’s basketball announced Thursday that former Maryland Terrapin guard Taisiya Kozlova will transfer to Dayton.
Kozlova, a native of Moscow Russia, entered the transfer portal on April 13th.
Dayton women’s basketball head coach Tamika Williams-Jeter said Thursday that Kozlova will be a great a asset for the Flyers on the court with her ability to stretch defenses out and shoot the ball at a very high level. “She’s 6-1 so she gives us a big, long guard,” she said. “Dayton fares well when we have 6-1, 6-2 wings that can really stroke it from the three-point arc. We are super excited to have Tai, she’s a great a person and has a rich story to tell.”
Kozlova appeared in 41 games in two seasons at Maryland and played a career-high 25 minutes against number four N.C. State last season. As a freshman, she shot 45 percent from three-point range and over 43 percent overall.
Kozlova is the second transfer added by Williams-Jeter, joining Anyssa Jones from Ohio State and is the third addition with incoming freshman Nayo Lear.
