DAYTON — The University of Dayton football team announced Sunday the 2023 schedule and team captains for the upcoming season.

The first game for new Flyer head coach Trevor Andrews will be September 2 when UD plays at Illinois State.
UD’s first two home games of the season at Welcome Stadium will be against Central State on September 9 and Taylor University on September 16.
Dayton’s first Pioneer Football League game will be September 23 when they travel west to play at San Diego.
UD will then host St. Thomas on September 30 and play at Morehead State on October 7.
Dayton has back-to-back home games, October 14 and 21, against Presbyterian and Butler before heading into the bye week.
The Flyers’ final three games will be November 4 at Valparaiso, November 11 when they host Marist and November 18 at Davidson.
The game times for each game is at 1 p.m.

Andrews was named the new football coach in December replacing Rick Chamberlin, who announced his retirement after the 2022 season.
Dayton’s team captains for the upcoming season will be linebacker Nathan Arthur, safety Matt Lenti, offensive tackle David Tkatch and wideout Derek Willits.
The results were a team vote and announced after Sunday’s spring football game at the UD football practice facility.
