DAYTON — Dayton sophomore forward DaRon Holmes II has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week following his performances last week against UMass and George Mason.

He averaged 28.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in two games. In addition, Holmes made over 64% of his shot from field.
He scored 22 points, had seven boards, three assists and three blocks in UD’s 72-54 win at UMass on February 23.
Holmes had a career-high 34 points, including 21 in the second half, in the Flyers’ 74-69 loss to George Mason at home on Saturday, February 25.

Holmes leads Dayton in scoring at 18.3 points per game and is first in the country with 79 dunks.
It is his first A-10 weekly honor. Toumani Camara won it two weeks ago.
UD’s next game is Tuesday night when they host LaSalle at the UD Arena at 7 p.m.
