Wright State announces the signing of Trotwood Madison grad Amari Davis

Davis played last season at Missouri and his first two seasons at Green Bay

FAIRBORN — Wright State men’s basketball head coach Scott Nagy announced Saturday the addition of Trotwood Madison graduate Amari Davis to the Raider program. Davis, a 6-2 guard, joins Wright States after playing last season at Missouri as a junior but played his first two seasons at fellow Horizon League school Green Bay.

Davis announced he was transferring from Missouri to Wright State on Thursday.

Davis played in 32 games with 13 starts last season average 9.0 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He scored double figures 14 times and led the Tigers in scoring five times. Davis scored 23 points on January 18th against Ole Miss going 10 from 10 from the field and three for three from the foul line. He was the first SEC player to go perfect from both the floor and free throw line since 2012.

Davis was the 2020 Horizon League Player of the Year at Green Bay scoring 524 points and averaging 15.9 points and 4.0 boards a game in 33 games as a freshmen. He was second-team All-Horizon League selection in 2020-21 after leading Green Bay in scoring (17.1), steals (32) and minutes (34.6).

He played his high school ball at Trotwood Madison High School where he was the 2019 Ohio Division II State Player of the Year as a senior. Davis scored 30.1 points per game in his final season at Trotwood, including 24 points as they won the 2019 State Championship.
