Wright State freshman earns Horizon League weekly rookie honor for 4th time this season

DAYTON — Wright State men’s basketball red-shirt-freshman Brandon Noel has been named Horizon League Freshman of the Week, the League announced Monday.

It is his fourth weekly award this season.

Noel is coming off two solid performances last week in two Raider home wins.

He had 12 points, eight rebounds and a career-high seven assists in a 103-71 win over IUPUI Wednesday night.

Noel scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards Friday night in Wright State’s 83-65 victory over Northern Kentucky. He also had three assists, two blocks and two steals.

He is averaging 12.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season and is second in the Horizon League in rebounding.

The Raiders play their final four regular season games on the road. Their next game is Friday night at Cleveland State at 7 p.m.

Wright State is currently 16-11 overall, 9-7 in the Horizon League.
