Wright State loses to Robert Morris to open 2022-23 Horizon League season

DAYTON — The Wright State Raiders opened the 2022-23 Horizon League season Thursday night at the Nutter Center against league newcomer, Robert Morris, and lost, 80-59.

They fall to 5-3 on the season.

Tim Finke led the Raiders with 18 points while Trey Calvin added 10.

Wright State shot less than 42% from the field, including 39% in the second half. Calvin made only 4-16 shots for the game, including 0-6 from three-point range.

Kahliel Spear led four players in double figures for Robert Morris with 27 points and made 12 of 15 shots from the flood. Josh Corbin added 15 while Enoch Cheeks scored 12 points. Michael Green III had 11.

The Colonials shot over 52% from the field, 32-61. They scored 17 points off 12 Wright State turnovers and had 38 points in the paint.

Wright State is back in action Sunday afternoon when they host Youngstown State. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. at the Nutter Center.
