Wright State opens 2022-23 season with double overtime home loss to Davidson

DAYTON — The Wright State Raiders lost in double overtime to the Davidson Wildcats, 102-97, Wednesday night at the Nutter Center.

They open the season with an 0-1 record.

The Raiders led, 52-36, at halftime but the Wildcats fought back to force overtime.

Davidson had a 98-97 advantage in double overtime but Foster Loyer’s three-pointer with 18 seconds remaining sealed the game.

Trey Calvin led four Wright State players in double figures with 37 points. Amari Davis had 17 while A.J. Braun and Tim Finke each scored 11 points.

Loyer scored a game-high 38 points for Davidson while Sam Mennegna added 16. Reed Bailey and Connor Kochera each contributed 15 points.

The Raiders are back in action Saturday at Louisville at 1 p.m. in Louisville, KY.
