Wright State’s season comes to end losing in Horizon League Quarterfinals

MILWAUKEE, WI — The Wright State Raiders’ season came to an end Thursday night when they lost to the Milwaukee Panthers, 87-70, in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Championship at the Klotsche Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Raiders made one of their first six shots to begin the game and trailed, 15-2. The Panthers led, 45-27, at halftime.

WSU got as close as 11 points, 74-63, following a three-pointer by Trey Calvin with less than five minutes left but could not get any closer.

Milwaukee scored nine straight points to seal the game and increase the advantage to 83-63 with 3:03 left.

Trey Calvin led Wright State with 28 points while Brandon Noel added 12 points. The Raiders made 38% of their shots.

B.J. Freeman scored 29 points for Milwaukee and the Panthers outrebounded WSU, 48-31. This included 14 offensive rebounds.

Wright State ends the season with an 18-15 record.

Milwaukee advances to the semifinals of the Horizon League Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana.
