Wright State’s Tanner Holden named to Lou Henson All-America Team

BOSTON, Ma — Wright State junior guard Tanner Holden has been to the 2021-22 Lou Henson All-America Team, which honors the nation’s best mid-major players in Division I men’s college basketball.

He is now a finalist for the Lou Henson Award, which will be announced on Friday, April 1st, in New Orleans, site of this year’s NCAA men’s basketball championship. Holden’s selection is the fourth straight Lou Henson All-America honor for Wright State, Loudon Love was selected the three previous years.

Holden led the Raiders in scoring this season averaging 20.1 points per game, second-best in the Horizon League and was in the Top 20 nationally in scoring entering this weekend. He scored in double figures 33 times, including 20 or more points a Horizon League-best 20 times and was a first team All-Horizon League performer this season.

Holden helped Wright State to their first NCAA Tournament win against Bryant in the First Four at UD Arena on March 16 scoring 37 points and 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season and had 12 points in their first round loss to Arizona two nights later.

Wright State went 22-14 this past season winning the Horizon League tournament championship to get an automatic bid in the 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament for the fourth time in program history.
