ENGLEWOOD — A driver was seriously injured after their truck crashed and plunged about 75 feet into a creek near the I-70 ramp to Hoke Road Friday morning, according to Sgt. Mike Lang with the Englewood Police Department.

The crash was reported around 11 a.m. at the Hoke Road exit ramp from I-70, Lang said.
The truck was traveling westbound on I-70 before it crashed into a guardrail and fell into the creek, Lang said.
The driver was temporarily trapped in the truck, but emergency crews were able to remove them within an hour, according to Lang.
The driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening, Lang said.
Lang said speed was not necessarily a factor in the crash, but the driver didn’t stop driving.
“If you’re driving and you’re gonna hit a guard rail and go through it coming off the highway, there’s a chance for a pretty serious accident. And that’s exactly what happened here this morning,” Lang said.
Heavy rescue crews responded to the scene to help crews get the driver out of the wreckage, emergency scanner traffic indicated.
