Winter Storm Warning in effect for majority of region; accumulating snow continues

A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for nearly the entire Miami Valley until 1 a.m. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for only Auglaize and Mercer counties in Ohio and Randolph County in Indiana.

News Center 7 will have Storm Center 7 team weather coverage throughout the night and on News Center 7 at 11.

QUICK-LOOK FORECAST:

THIS EVENING: Tracking snow from now through about 10 p.m. The snow could be heavy at times. Rates may approach an inch an hour along the I-70 corridor.

Total snowfall accumulation between 3-6 inches is expected across the Miami Valley.

Isolated areas may see up to 6 inches. After the snow ends, bitterly cold air settles in for the night with lows in the teens and wind chills in the low teens.

SATURDAY: Some clouds and flurries early it will become mostly sunny by the afternoon. Cold with wind chills in the teens early on. Afternoon highs remain cold with temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy. Warming it up with highs in the mid-40s.

TUESDAY: Partly sunny and dry. Highs in the lower 50s.

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy with very mild temperatures. Rain is still a possibility. Highs near 60 degrees.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with a few showers possible. Remaining mild with highs in the upper 50s.

FRIDAY: Cloudy, colder with rain showers possible. Highs in the lower 40s.
